I am sometimes a scatterbrain. Keeping up with keys, cards, phones, and papers are a constant
struggle for me. When I am thinking of a million things at once, something falls through the cracks. One of the
most recent examples of this is when my debit card "disappeared". I was away from home staying in Dallas for
my internship with no cash or any other access to money. I prayed my tank of gas would last the 40 minute drive and get me to where I was staying.
Luckily enough a coworker was taking me to lunch due to a bet so at least one meal was taken care of. While researching apple pay for my boss, I had set it up right before I lost the card, but buying things at CVS only gets you so far. I had to humble myself and as for help. I sat down and made a game plan. I froze my card, and made plans to get a new one. I had to tell my mom. She is not unfamiliar with my affinity to misplacing items and I hate having to admit that I messed up.
I learned that asking for help my be painful but is absolutely necessary. I had to be vulnerable and let those around me have proof that I am not perfect and need them. This has made me better at using my resources and not being afraid other others input when something goes wrong. I have become more open about my faults and instead of trying to cover them up, I ask for help from those who love to freely give.
